IBM named '2007 Employer of Choice for Women'

Leading the IT industry with a 7-year unbroken record

EOWA EMPLOYER OF CHOICE FOR WOMEN

This week, IBM was named Employer of Choice for Women by the federal government's Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) for the seventh year in a row.

IBM is the only information technology company to have been included on the list every year since the citation began in 2000-2001, and one of only 38 such organisations Australia-wide.

The citation is awarded to organisations with more than 100 employees that have demonstrated policies that support women across the organisation and can show that these have had a positive outcome for both women and for the business.

IBM has been recognised for our policies to attract and retain older workers, for increasing the representation of women at executive levels, and for helping employees maintain a work/life balance. Being named on the list is highly regarded across all industries and by both the corporate and community sector.

This recognition comes on top of the raft of diversity awards we won last year including: "Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women (>500 employees)" at EOWA's annual awards, plus two awards from the Diversity@Work for the Employment and Inclusion of Mature Age Workers and People with a Disability (Large Organisation).
