IBM China Global Delivery Center
Founded in 1911 in the USA, IBM (International Business Machines) is the world's largest IT and business solution provider. IBM is the only IT (information technology) Company in the world, and also in China, to offer end-to-end solutions from hardware to software services and high end consultancy.
IBM's Global Services is the world's largest IT and consulting service provider offering higher values for clients and addressing growing demand for global delivery of IT services. IBM opened its Global Delivery Center (GDC) in China in 1999 in Shanghai, and it is now IBM's second largest Global Delivery Center worldwide after India. All the Global Delivery Centers regardless of geography comply with IBM's global practices, processes and methodologies.
The IBM China GDC provides a broad spectrum of services, including consulting, systems integration, application services, maintenance, testing, solution management, business transformation outsourcing services and IT infrastructure services. It also supports leading package solutions, such as SAP, Oracle, Siebel, mainframe and e-business applications. It consists of five locations across China ranging from: Shanghai, Dalian, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Wuhan.
In 2009, China GDC has successfully attained both ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 certifications. The ISO certification is another important milestone in the company's continuous quality improvement efforts following its accreditation of Capability Maturity Model® Integration Level 5 (CMMI 5) Version 1.2 by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in 2008. With the latest and highest international standard institutionalized across China Global Delivery's sites, IBM continues its leadership in quality control in China's application services (AS) outsourcing market.
Shanghai
The IBM China Global Delivery Center Shanghai Site was established in 1999. It provides application services to clients worldwide, especially in Japan. It also focuses on the invoice phase of Accounts Payable process supporting 15 countries in five languages (English, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Thai)
Dalian
The IBM China Global Delivery Center Dalian Site was established in 2003. It provides application services to customers worldwide, especially in Japan and in South Korea. It is the strategic site for IBM Global Process Services (GPS) business in Asia, as it provides services for clients worldwide ranging from credit card processing services and business process outsourcing services in functions of CRM (customer relationship management), finance and accounting, HR (human resources) and procurement. The Dalian site was awarded the "Best Software & Services Outsourcing Company" four times issued by local government to date.
Shenzhen
The IBM China Global Delivery Center Shenzhen Site was established in 2002. It serves as a strategic Service Delivery Center for the Global Technology Services business. It provides technical support, call center and command center services to clients worldwide. The Shenzhen site was awarded “China Best Outsourcing Support Center” in 2008 and became one of the first companies in China to be ISO 20000 certified (2007), an international standard for IT service management. The Shenzhen site also offers application services to Asian customers as well as IBM products and services through the ibm.com and telephone.
Chengdu
The IBM China Global Delivery Center Chengdu Site was established in 2007. It provides development, operation and maintenance of application services to clients worldwide. It also acts as a regional operation center for the IBM Global Procurement Center. The IBM Global Procurement Center supports all of IBM's global integration of supply chain management and provides services in multiple languages ranging from Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean.
Wuhan
The IBM China Global Delivery Center Wuhan Site was established in 2010. It provides development, operation and maintenance of application services to clients worldwide with focus in banking, industrial, telecommunications and transportation industries.
