Working in Sales at IBM provides many challenges. From understanding and translating our clients unique business needs to managing relationship crisis through IBM's client care programs. However with challenge comes reward and I was fortunate enough to be selected to attend the graduate inferno program.
The inferno program is an event conducted annually to recognise the top three high performing associates across Australia and New Zealand. This year the event took place in the Victorian Yarra Valley and entailed three days of activities ranging from Tennis at the Australian Open to a Leadership Symposium focusing on IBM's global leadership development model. Throughout the event there were visits by IBM Executives to meet and congratulate award recipient's as well as ensure the quality of wine and fare were up to standard.
The Inferno participants have to be recommended by their management for both excelling at their role and contributing to the broader IBM. This years participants hailed from three different business units of IBM and had all contributed to the broader IBM business in different ways. From participating on the Associate Network leadership team and organising social events to building organisational culture in remote office locations - the contributions reflected the IBM value of trust and personal responsibility in all relationships.
Whatever your role at IBM I would encourage you to get involved as broadly as possible and enjoy the experience of working in a diverse and exciting workplace which rewards high performance.
