Jaspreet is the Senior Vice President- Digital Transformation of the Mahindra Group at the Group Strategy Office.
He is one of the ancient curiosities of the Internet, technology and startup world in India, having being born a few years before the Internet was. He started his career with the Tata Group, as a Tata Administrative Services Officer, and led functions and businesses in FMCG and Telecom. For some time, he was part of the startup team at Baazee.com (now EBAY India), as their COO. From thereon, his wanderings took him to Microsoft India – where he led the Internet, Retail, XBOX, Consumer P&Ls. Looking to something more unconventional, he became the CEO of AskMe, the yellow-pages-publisher-transformed-into-a-mobile-app-led local-search-play, which, incidentally, is now comatose.
Jaspreet is quite active across the tech start-up ecosystem, and has invested, advised, mentored and incubated a dozen tech start-ups. He leads the CDO Forum of IAMAI, writes extensively on Digital Transformation, fancies himself as a Blockchain and AgriTech expert; and has spoken at HBS, ISB, IIMA, IAMAI, CII and other academic and industry forums. A few years ago, he was surprised to see that Business Today had listed him as one of the ‘The Top 25 Young Managers in India’.
Jaspreet is a Chemical Engineer (though he only spent 4 months practicing it), and an MBA in International Business from IIFT. What he is very thrilled by, is being a three-time National champion in Brand Equity Business Quiz, having been a keen quizzer in his salad days. He is also an accredited Leadership Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
