Certification FAQs
For your easy understanding, here are some FAQs that might come in handy.
Q. Which tests (exams) are offered at RSC 2009?
All tests offered at RSC 2009 will pertain to IBM Rational Software. View the complete list of tests offered.
Q. How do I sign up for test at RSC 2009?
Tests are given on a first come, first serve basis; when you register for attending the event you can also register for the Certification program by paying the requisite amount, and choose a certification slot as per your convenience. A mail confirming your Certification slot will be sent to you. Very few slots will be open for walk-in Certifications - which could involve wait time. Plan ahead and choose the tests you want to take, pay for those tests and book a slot in advance.
Q. I have taken a test before, but I do not remember my Prometric Prime Id?
You will need your UserName and password to take a test. If you do not remember your information, you can utilize the "Recover your Username and/or password" from the Prometric site.
Q. I have used Prime before; how do I take a test?
Select secure sign-in (Users SSL encryption) enter your username and password and Sign-in On the Candidate / Delivery Main Menu. If required, change the domain and than select Take Test. Please be patient; the proctor will now personally activate your test.
Q. How do I take the test if I have not used Prime before or taken a test?
Select 'First Time Registration'
Step 1: Leave blank (unless you know your Prometric ID number)
Step 2: Select the relevant prime section (or program) on the pull down menu and click 'Continue', which will take you to the privacy statement.
Q. How do I prepare to take a test?
Full information on recommended education, training resources, test objectives, sample tests, number of questions on a test, and test duration in minutes can be found on the external IBM Rational Certification webpage.
Q. I work for IBM, are there internal resources to help me study for the test?
As an IBMer, you can utilize training options recommended on the external IBM Rational Certification webpage, via Learning@IBM. You can search by the IBM Code appending a G to the end; for instance, RD201G. IBM Professional Certification is a valuable creditional, and proper security of test content is a critical aspect for maintaining a reputable certification.
Q. How many tests can I take at the conference?
You are entitled to maximum of 2 tests . Each test will cost you Rs.500.00.
Q. What is the payment mode for the tests?
Each test will cost Rs. 500.00 to take. Payment must be made before the event. The Rs. 500.00 per test offer is valid only for the period of the conference. In the event you pass the test the amount will be refunded.
Q. I failed a test; can I retake it?
Yes, you can retake any given test twice within a 30 day time period by paying the fee relevant at that time.
Q. How soon do I get the results of a test?
You will know immediately whether you passed or failed. The score is available once you complete the test.
Q. When will I receive my certificate?
You will receive your certification by email, via the email address in your Prometric Prime profile, within five (5) business days. Please note all certification requirements must be met (i.e. passed all certification tests).
Q. Will you inform my manager that I have passed the test?
No, IBM is committed to protecting your personal information. Certification data is considered personal data, and is not released without your authorization. You can find complete details on the IBM Certification Policy.
