at IBM Software Universe 2012

1607 delegates. Over 360 business leaders and entrepreneurs. 1400 software enthusiasts. Over 375 organisations from across India participated in the 8th edition of IBM Software Universe 2012, held at The Renaissance Convention Centre Mumbai, on November 6th and 7th.

At IBM India’s flagship software conclave, India’s sharpest minds in business and IT came face to face the future of enterprise technology. A future made bright with the power of new possibilities – thanks to hyper-digitisation, the mobile revolution, the emergence of social media and the explosion of data. IBM distinguished engineers, industry visionaries, subject matter experts and a celebrated panel of speakers spoke on the changes impacting customers, employees, businesses and partners, and charted out a definitive model for seizing new opportunities and guaranteeing sustainable growth.

Day 1 – Leadership Meet

Designed for business leaders, entrepreneurs and people who see the world differently, the meet was hosted by Ms. Mandira Bedi and showcased different sides of the technology story in a series of sessions flagged off by IBM leaders. Anil Menon spoke about the IBM 5-in-5 initiative, large scale adoption of new technologies and what it means for India. Shanker Annaswamy revealed 5 innovations that will change the way we live. John Dunderdale outlined the enlightened customer and how BPM transforms critical business processes. Leigh Williamson spoke on Speeding Innovation & Extending Reach with Mobile Enterprises, the future with augmented reality, the phone as a wallet & health monitor and helping clients embrace the mobile revolution. Deepak Advani spoke on unlocking opportunities with Big Data & Analytics. Peter Murchison spoke on transforming business processes in order to achieve better results. Sandesh Bhat spoke about the importance of engaging with enlightened customer to create exceptional experiences. And Rashmy Chatterjee presented a case on defending cyber threats with IBM Security Intelligence and Behavioural Analytics.

India’s legendary cricketing icon, Rahul Dravid regaled the audience with his keynote address on decision making, capability management, adapting to change, the art of consistency and how technology has changed the game. The meet was also attended by IBM’s premier clients such as Idea Cellular, Polaris, SBI and Birla Sun Life Insurance. The participants also attended a Demo Showcase of cutting-edge IBM solutions and discussed the challenges in front office digitisation with the IBM experts.

Day 2- Technology Day

Designed especially for software enthusiasts, the day was jam-packed with over 25 insight-packed technology sessions on Big Data and Analytics, Enterprise Mobility, Business Process Management, Social Business, Smarter Commerce, Enterprise Security and Cloud.

Celebrity speaker, Padmashree awardee and India’s world renowned cricketing icon Rahul Dravid spoke on the inevitability of change, the need to adapt, the importance of teamwork and contributing through individual performance. The Solutions Experience Zone showcased demos of IBM’s latest cutting-edge solutions.
