Biography of Ivor Macfarlane

Ivor MacfarlaneIvor is an IT Service Management (ITSM) consultant and trainer, having delivered consultancy and training and presented at ITSM events in well over 20 countries across all continents for the past two decades. He joined IBM in June 2007 and continues to contribute to best practice development, write and talk about ITSM and work with IBM's clients to help them improve their services.

Ivor is a major contributor to ITSM publications in the industry, including the BSI Workbook for IT Service Management, the ITIL books, versions 1, 2 and 3, the ITIL pocketbook and the Dictionary of IT Service Management Terms for IT Service Management Forum (itSMF). He was a member of the BSI panel that produced both the BSI Code of Practice for IT Service Management and the formal Standard in IT Service Management (now adopted as ISO/IEC 20000).

He has been actively involved with itSMF since 1994 and is currently the Chairman of the itSMF's International Publications Executive Sub-Committee (IPESC).
