Reading Companion (www.readingcompanion.org (link resides outside ibm.com)) is IBM's Web-based literacy initiative that uses voice recognition technology to help children learn to read in English.
The Reading Companion Program has:
- 10+ years of measurable impact on children's literacy
- implemented in 41 countries, 2,700 schools and not-for-profit organizations
- reached 121,000 students around the world
Program allows students:
- practice reading as they acquire fundamental reading skills through e-books
- read aloud and get immediate audio feedback on pronunciations and accuracy
- access the program any time inside or outside classrooms
Target
Students from kindergarten to primary schools
Application
Download the application form and submit your application online. Applicants will be notified their results once the selection procedures are completed.
