Senior Member is a member grade that recognizes some of the top ACM Professional Members with at least 10 years of professional experience and 5 years of continuous Professional Membership who have demonstrated performance that sets them apart from their peers.
Ullas Nambiar and L Venkata Subramaniam (LVS) from IBM Research – India have become a senior members of ACM in 2011. A total 61 members worldwide, eight from India, became ACM Senior Members in 2011.
Ullas and LVS are part of the Information Management team at the India lab. Ullas’research focus is primarily on enabling seamless access to the information present in heterogeneous data sources. This involves investigating diverse areas such as information integration, similarity search and data mining. LVS’ research interests include unstructured information management, statistical natural language processing, noisy text analytics, text and data mining, information theory, speech and image processing.
