Best Paper Award at IWQoS 2011

Efficiently allocating resources for streaming video is extremely challenging due to the bursty nature of video traffic. This topic was explored by our researchers UmaMaheswari Devi and Shivkumar Kalyanaraman along with Ritesh Kalle of IIIT, Bangalore, (during his internship with us) in their paper entitled "Multi-tiered, Burstiness-aware Bandwdith Estimation and Scheduling for VBR Video Flows." This paper received the best paper award at the 19th International Workshop on Quality of Service (IWQoS-2011), held in June 2011 and co-sponsored by both IEEE and ACM.

Since 1994, IWQoS has served as the premier annual workshop on Quality of Service, providing an international forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting edge research in the field.
