Best Paper Award at SDM 2011

Emphasizing our presence at premier conferences, researchers from the lab have recently received the 'Best Paper Award' at SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM) 2011 www.siam.org/meetings/sdm11/. The paper, titled 'Exploiting Coherence in Reviews for Discovering Latent Facets and Associated Sentiments' has been authored by Himabindu Lakkaraju, Chiranjib Bhattacharyya (Indian Institute of Science), Indrajit Bhattacharya (Indian Institute of Science) and Srujana Merugu. This paper was presented in the 'Text and Web Mining' session of the conference. Srujana is a Researcher in the Human Language Technologies Department and Himabindu is a software engineer in the same department. This work also marks our flourishing collaborations with Academia. SDM is a premier international conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. It has been attracting leading researchers from both industry and academia in the fields of machine learning and data mining.
