The world has become increasingly instrumented and interconnected, creating the need for systems and solutions that are highly intelligent - and have the capability to analyze trillions of data and information. IBM, the first company to build petaflop supercomputers, has consistently taken the lead in developing the systems and technologies of tomorrow. The Next Generation Systems and Solutions team at IBM Research - India takes this mission further through its three key focus areas.
- High Performance Computing: Improving the performance of engineering, scientific, and business applications on high performance platforms such as the IBM Blue Gene supercomputer.
- Smarter Wireless Solutions: Research activities in optimizations, algorithms and architectures for 3G and 4G telecommunication technologies and private enterprise networks.
- Smarter Energy Solutions: Developing solutions for Smarter Energy (Demand, Operations and Supply).
- High Performance Analytics: Design, analysis and performance optimizations of the state-of-the-art parallel analytics algorithms and run-time systems for multi-core and distributed architectures.
