  • ISL Extreme Blue (EB) internship program for 2007, which is an incubator for Talent, Technology and Innovation concluded with the Extreme Blue expo on 26th July. Over 30 Extreme Blue interns (including an international intern for the first time), participated from across nine Tier 1 schools from May to July 2007. Eminent faculty members like Dr Prem Vrat, Founder Director of IIT Roorkee, Dr Sandeep Sancheti, Director NITK Surathkal and Dr A K Trhipathi , HoD CSE at IT BHU visited the expo. The key success factors of the programme this year are:
    • We have 10 disclosures
    • 17 interns converted to join ISL
  • Shared University Research Grants announced for
    • Amrita institute of Technology Coimbatore - 135k USD - (Virtual Computing Lab Grid)
    • HBTI Kanpur - 62k USD - (Virtual Computing Lab Grid)
    • Univ. of Hyderabad - 65k USD - (Virtual Computing Lab Grid)
    • IIM Bangalore - 38k USD - (A pilot to further the implementation and training of component business modelling for govt. enterprises)
  • IBM part sponsored DISCOVERY, 07 at NITK, Suratkal
  • IBM Technology Day held at CoE, Trivandrum
  • IRL participated as a silver sponsor in Summer School in Speech Recognition & ASR4 India symposium held at IIIT Bangalore
  • UR team worked with Gujarat Informatics Ltd (a govt of Gujarat co) and IBM Daksh to create BPO initiative. Shortlisted recent graduates will be trained by Daksh for 1 month and at the end those who clear an assessment will be hired by Daksh. Govt will provide the training venue. This will be repeated on a continuous basis and hence provide a hiring pipeline for Daksh
  • The Great Mind Challenge registrations happening in full swing, continuous email blasts with updates sent to all regitrants. The registration closes on August 31st. Dispatch of posters and hard copy mailers underway to 1500 colleges
  • Technology Education Outreach programme conducted in Hyderabad reaching over 60 students. This programme was organised in partnership with Byrraju Foundation
