Global Remote Mentoring
Global Remote Mentoring is a unique program designed to provide a mechanism for students to learn real life technical problem solving, project delivery concepts and communication skills. This program simulates remote project management and delivery environment. Students work with their Faculty Mentor and consult with designated IBM Mentors (experts) on their project. Students deliver the projects from on campus facilities. At the end of the mentoring period (2-3 months), certain projects would be selected as star projects. The students who worked in Star projects may be provided with an opportunity to present their work before a panel of senior IBMers. Faculty leading the Start projects would be given an award for their contribution. Faculty involvement is expected to trigger thought process around technology as well as project delivery leading to collaborative thought leadership and research in these areas. Projects focus on High Performance Computing, Information Management, Open Source, SOA Cells and Delivery related tools to name a few. IBM would be launching programs for business, services and other areas of interest.

Faculty Residency
IBM India University Relations actively seeks collaborations and relationships with Indian Universities. Our goal is to develop long-term, mutually beneficial collaborative relationships with the faculties in the Indian academia by fostering advanced research, promoting university-industry exchanges, providing infrastructure and technology support, and cultivating tomorrow’s world-class researchers. Faculty Residency Program is one of such initiatives of our collaborative model. The objective of the program is to host the interested faculty in IBM premises for 2-4 weeks for working closely with Subject Matter Experts on various university offerings. Further, the faculty will have access to IBM information which could generate new ideas for the collaboration with the academia. The faculty is expected to become an IBM champion and influencer at the end of the Residency.

IBM Campus Ambassador
The IBM Campus Ambassador program is a voluntary program designed to have a liaison between IBM & Academia to strengthen the collaboration and evangelize cutting edge technologies. Students highly motivated in learning gen-next technologies and network with IBM Experts are invited to participate. Though the program is voluntary, it gives students a chance to learn more about industry relevant technologies, know how technologies are evolving and network with IBM Experts. All of these will surely broaden the horizon of students.
