The commentary pit!

Hey guys,
I'm standing in the northern commentary pit and Ana Ivanovic is playing right behind me. Our commentators are just down the hall commentating and I think it's safe to say they have the best seat in the house. Click on the video below to check it out.

Every day we're seeing the traffic double as the tournament approaches and, as a broadcaster, nothing is more gratifying than having an audience. We're trying plenty of new things in our coverage this year and our vantage point (literally metres from centre court) means we'll bring you closer to the action than anyone else. Come and take a look at our broadcast booth...

The launch.

Hey guys,
Good news, the site launched on Wednesday and it looks fabulous. The team is incredibly proud of it - it's a big change from last year and it's very exciting to see our content strategy take life.
So, now it's full steam ahead with Australian Open Radio. And, because it's one of the most popular features on australianopen.com, this year we're expanding the coverage to three channels. We'll have live commentary from Rod Laver Arena, a magazine-style channel called Australian Open Radio Talk and one Asian language commentary per day - all hosted and streamed by IBM. It's a big job getting a radio station up and running but it's also a heap of fun.
With the help of IBM, the website is extremely interactive this year. Fans are able to contribute to Australian Open Acer, our daily log, where they can ask questions about Australian Open or provide us with their own observations and comments. Then there's our new Slam Shots application that lets fans send us their Australian Open photos. Slam Shots is a Grand Slam first. And Australian Open Radio Talk will (hopefully) have a talkback component this year that means fans can ring in and chat to the presenters. With all this new interactive functionality, plus old favourites like SlamTracker delivering scores to users' desktops, australianopen.com is the most interactive it's ever been.
To achieve this, the IBM team works with us on this every step of the way. I can't remember a day in the last three months that I haven't had a phone conversation with someone from the team. They must be sick to death of me now. The website is such a collaborative effort and knowing the cooperation and teamwork that goes into creating it makes the outcome even more satisfying.

What I love about Australian Open
_Monday November 19th 2007 10:10
Hey everybody!
I thrive around the buzz that surrounds live events which is why the Australian Open is the highpoint of my year. This is my fifth tournament and I love the chaos and the challenges that arise during it. Things change from minute to minute, no two days are the same, and the members of the team constantly have to think on their feet. It's an adrenaline rush and there's nothing I like better than the juggling act.
Make sure you check my profile for regular updates!
