When someone asks me what my most memorable moment was during Australian Open 2008, I will have not one, but three to choose from. Firstly, Bernard Tomic winning the Australian Open Junior title. Secondly, The electric atmosphere of the Men's singles final, the crowning of a new champion and the rise of Tsonga. And thirdly, the capacity crowd for the Women's singles final and two of the great super stars of the women's game competing for the title.
I feel very proud to be part of the team that delivered the greatest Australian Open ever. To have again achieved extremely high player satisfaction and to now be receiving on-going communication from players and international spectators and guests on how successful the tournament was. I 'm also proud of the decisions we made that delivered some epic and unbelievable matches.
Next year's Australian Open is going to be even better. We're going to unveil our new player restaurant and relaxation area, showcase some new innovations that we'll develop over the next month, and find more new ways to continue to smash old records.
Until next Time,
Craig

Not disappointing.

Hey,
After achieving record crowds and some amazing matches on day one of the tournament, it was natural to have high expectations for day two. And it certainly didn't disappoint. We had a beautiful Melbourne summer day, plenty of tightly contested matches and great crowds.
A large contingent of Australians played today, with mixed results. Wildcard Joe Sirianni lost a tough 5 set match to Janko Tipsarevic (SRB), Alun Jones won in four sets, Chris Guccione, after his great performance last week in Sydney, fell in straight sets to Hyung-Taik Lee (KOR) and Lleyton Hewitt moved comfortably into the second round with a straight sets win.
Other highlights on the mens side saw Novek Djokovic, the third seed, progress in straight sets and all other mens seeds moving through to the second round.
So far today two womens seeds have been knocked out. Lucie Safarova (CZE) the 22nd seed, lost to Catalina Castano (COL) and 16th see Dinara Safina (RUS) was beaten by Sabine Lisicki (GER).
Tonight everyone is looking forward to defending champion Roger Federer making his first appearance on the new True Blue courts of Rod Laver Arena.
Catch you soon,
Craig

It's make or break for the players in the Qualifying round as they battle it out for the last 16 places in the main draw of Australian Open 2008. But will the heat beat all of them and cause a disruption to our fairly packed schedule? Click on the video and I'll talk you through our hot-weather policy and how it affects the players.

Hi,
Right now we're hosting all the National Junior Championships at Melbourne Park. After that, the Australian Open play-off begins, where our top players compete for a wildcard to play in the tournament.
In other news, the feedback on the court surface has been great. The players love the consistency of the ball-bounce and the comfortable feeling under their feet. Also, the courts have not been overreacting to the changing heat conditions, which is great, and are playing at a medium, to medium-fast pace.
In the next couple of weeks, I'll be overseeing the preparation of all the player related functions such as player services, the gymnasium, accommodation, accreditation, transportation, entries and other player requests. As mentioned above, we're also hosting the Australian Open play-off from December 15 - 21. Fans can come and watch this and enjoy the tennis - free of charge. In addition, we have a few more staff training sessions where we will give an update of all the initiatives for 2008.
