INTRODUCTION
Australian Open 2008. Done.
After months of planning and preparation, the teams from Tennis Australia and IBM are done. With a 48% increase in traffic to the website, and a Grand Slam record for most admissions on a single day (over 62,000 attendees), it's been the biggest and best Australian Open ever. The teams dealt with extreme heat, massive web traffic spikes and keeping thousands of new staff organised and motivated. We're 6 days into the tournament and our workload has dropped right off. All hardware has been deployed, and all areas have been fully operational for a few days. Now we just sit back, enjoy the tennis, and deal with any issues that arise.
Does anyone have a spare energy drink? Or three?
