Hey guys,
We're halfway through the tournament and everything is ok. There have been some tough moments here and there but nothing I couldn't handle. I'm standing on the balcony of the player tournament lounge at the moment, getting some fresh air, so if you're interested in hearing about what goes on inside there, click on the video below.

So far it's been a quite start to the day with everything working well. With the player party tonight, I've spent most of the day organising transport, guest lists, and alcohol. Watch me speak about it below.

Finger on the trigger for the Players' Draw
_Thursday January 10th 2008 18:23
Just over 12 hours until the first big live event of the tournament: the all-important Players' Draw. With the help of IBM, we've got a seamless, automated draw selection process up and running, which is the signal that the Tournament is very nearly underway - and that we're almost out of time. Click the video and I'll give you a rundown of how the draw works.

Busy as a bee.
_Friday December 14th 2007 12:10
Hey guys!
This week has been incredibly busy and stressful. We have finalised some decisions on the equipments that we will be using in the gym, printed the player guide and entertainment guide, and also have a general agreement on the Australian Open Draw and on court ceremonies.
The next couple of weeks will probably be busier as I try to pack the player gifts before the new year, train staff on some of the databases and procedures we use, set up the player services area and distribute our on court ceremonies plans. My goal has always been to get as much done as possible before Christmas and to try and get a few days rest around the New Year so I can approach January fresh and with lots of energy. This will be a challenge as some of my plans have gone awry, but hopefully I can get back on track soon.
As always, we're lucky to have IBM helping us out. The innovations, like the Match Analysis DVDs, help to optimise the players experience at Australian Open. The DVDs are not only an attractive additional gift for each player, but also provide invaluable information about their previous matches and areas where they played well, and could improve in the future. We have at long last finalised all the plans for the feeds for this service, and who will be responsible for what, so now we just need to get the labels for each of the DVDs printed so they're ready to go when Australian Open starts.

15 years!
_Thursday October 31st 2007 17:10
Hey guys!
Would you believe this is my 15th Australian Open? I originally started as a ball girl but now I look after the most important people in the tournament - the players!
Obviously I'm a bit of a fan when it comes to the tennis. However, I also love the atmosphere around Rod Laver Arena during the Open. It's always got a real party and summer feel to it - making it a really fun place to be.
Anyway got to go now - lots of scheduling to do, people to talk to - but I'll catch up with you all again soon!
Lisa
