Final thoughts.

Hi,

The most memorable moment during Australian Open 2008 was breaking the world record for single day attendance at a Grand Slam. 62,885 people come the Melbourne Park to enjoy being part of our Greatest Ever Australian Open. I also enjoyed seeing the emotion in the crowd during Casey Dellacqua's matches and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's awesome display in his semi final against Rafa Nadal. It was a great moment when an Australian Bernard Tomic was crowned as the youngest ever grand slam junior champion.

Helping the team of 4000 people deliver the Greatest Ever Australian Open is something I'm definitely proud of. In particular, the massive growth of 48% over last year for our Australian Open Website was an achievement of significant magnitude. To grow that much so fast is an amazing achievement. This growth means we connected with more people around the world than ever before with our AO live scores, AO radio and AO TV programs. We had over 7.3 million unique users surpassing the size of the US Open Web site, which IBM also runs.

I'm really looking forward to the challenge of making Australian Open 2009 an even better event than AO 08 - which was our greatest ever.

New court!

What a day. Today was the unveiling of the new court and it looks great. I can't wait to see all the action and suspense that's going to take place on it. Today we also had sponsor, staff and media launches. Here's how it went.
