Australian BioEnergy Roadmap 2020 and beyond

In early 2007, the Australian Government, through the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA), approved a grant under the Low Emissions Technology Abatement (LETA) - Renewables program to allow the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), now the Clean Energy Council, to develop an Australian
Bioenergy Roadmap.

The Roadmap aims to identify the potential of the bioenergy industry to contribute to Australia' renewable energy generation. It also provides pathways and guidance for joint actions between government and industry to attain that potential. Clearly, a smart approach to energy will require contributions from all sectors of the industry, and the roadmap is an important step in that process. Take a look at the roadmap here.

Australia's first solar powered carbon neutral resort

Hidden Valley Cabins is Australia's first fully carbon neutral resort and tour business powered by solar energy. Is this the start of a new trend? Will we see a wider use of solar power in commercial settings? And what can we learn from the Hidden Valley Cabins example?

World's largest solar energy farm for Australia

Energy Matters is one of Australia's largest companies solely dedicated to renewable energy. Having installed more solar power systems than just about anybody in the country, Energy Matters is amongst the leading national providers of renewable energy solutions. On their website, energymatters.com.au, they discuss the Rudd Government' decision to build four solar farms that are projected to generate three times as much power as the world's current largest project, based in California.

An Australian approach to energy innovation and collaboration

Australia' energy producers are entering an era of great change, with increasing pressure to drive efficiencies in both the supply and demand sides of their businesses.

See how an Australian approach to energy innovation and collaboration is reducing greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining that most basic building block of human development: safe, dependable, available and cost-effective power.
