Corporate community relations

A commitment to corporate citizenship

IBM's central commitment: education

IBM's commitment in education is based on our belief that no company can succeed if it is part of an unsuccessful community and no community can be successful if it lacks an educated population.

This belief has been carried from our ex-chairman Lou Gerstner 'If Schools don't work, the country won't work'. Our Singapore leaders reinforced it by the vision of 'Thinking Schools, Learning Nation'.

In Singapore, we implemented IBM Corporate community relations to narrow the gap between the privileged students and others in opportunities of learning and to act as a catalyst in building a caring community. Our aim is to help prepare less privileged students and children to compete in this increasingly dynamic world.

As a leading technology and solutions company, IBM is leading the way toward the on demand world, and has the business insight and technology expertise to help our customers become on demand businesses.

IBM demonstrates daily how technology can help businesses and major institutions operate more effectively. In a similar way, our technology, experience, and talent can bring substantial and structural improvements to many aspects of education.

IBM has all along demonstrated a significant long-term commitment to school reform and school improvement through its Reinventing Education initiative.
