Trust the industry leader in blades
While blade servers are the fastest growing segment among all servers, not all blades are created equal. In fact, IBM is clearly the innovator and leader in the blade segment with number one share for eleven consecutive quarters.1
By migrating to the industry leader in blades, you not only help protect your investment moving forward, but you can realise immediate benefits versus the competition.

Featured case study
Siebel Systems increased availability; reduced server deployment and image creation times by more than 67%; lowered cabling requirements by 92%; increased floor space and enhanced productivity with an IBM BladeCenter solution.
"IBM made me feel comfortable every step of the way. I didn't have that same feeling with other vendors." Paco Calderon, Senior Manager for Engineering Compute Utility, Siebel Systems.
Investment protection
All IBM BladeCenter blades, switches and adapters are interoperable in all chassis,
providing investment protection and incredibly flexible, mix-and-match deployment choices.
Whether you bought your IBM BladeCenter in November 2002 or yesterday, you have
deployed a compatible platform that continues to deliver innovation and performance.
You are not stranded on dead-end technology.
Energy efficient
The heat is on for companies to lower their energy use, and IBM BladeCenter can help.
The IBM BladeCenter is up to 37%2 more energy efficient than current systems from either Dell or HP. That's because its blades are uniquely designed to share power with each other. Our dense design can use substantially less power with less heat output, less weight and airflow per server than stand-alone server platforms.
Long-established ecosystem
Just as continued interoperability is important for customers, it's also important for IBM and
the many companies who have invested a great deal of time and money towards building
an ecosystem around BladeCenter. Without an ecosystem it is extremely difficult to create
a compatible, trusted solution. IBM has been building its ecosystem for several years. Neither Dell or HP has as broad of an ecosystem as IBM. That means more choices and flexibility for you.
With HP's recent announcement of a new chassis that is not compatible with previous
chassis, HP is in essence starting from scratch and will take a long time to pull together
even a small ecosystem. What does this mean to you? HP may not
have the SAN switch you need for their new chassis. You may be forced into buying
something that's not familiar, that doesn't work with your standards or could have
unknown security issues. It's like starting all over again.
Open design
IBM is committed to an open and collaborative community where you
can confidently deploy BladeCenter in your mission-critical environments.
IBM's focus on solutions gives you the flexibility and choice that you need.
