Dr. Amith Singhee

Dr. Amith Singhee is a Manager and Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM Research, India. He leads the research agenda for Industry Solutions in the sectors of Retail, Distribution and Buildings He has extensive experience in applying artificial intelligence, IoT, enterprise architecture, Cloud and mobile to real-world business processes across multiple sectors such as energy, agriculture, buildings and retail.

Amith has a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a winner of several awards, specifically the Donald O. Pederson award from IEEE/CEDA, the Outstanding Dissertation Award from EDAA, the Arthur G. Milnes Award from Carnegie Mellon University, and best paper awards at top Power and EDA conferences, such as IEEE PES General Meeting, DAC, DATE and VLSI Design. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a member of the ACM.

Girish Dhanakshirur

Girish is the IBM Technical Executive and IBM Distinguished Engineer with WW Chief Architect with WW Chief Architect responsibility for IBM Cloud Mobile Portfolio. In addition to driving the delivery of next-generation architecture on IBM Cloud, Girish works closely with World Wide clients on large-scale Cloud deployments helping them in their Digital Transformation journey. Girish is a prolific speaker in a number of Technology and Industry conferences, an IBM Master Inventor (21 patents issued) and a member of IBM’s prestigious IBM Academy of Technology. He holds a Masters in Computer Science and an MBA, both from Florida Atlantic University, USA.

Vishal Chahal

Vishal is the Chief Architect for Cognitive Solutions at System Integrators lab and Technical Lead for IBM Machine Learning Hub at IBM Software Labs in Bangalore. He specializes in Watson Cognitive Products, Advanced Analytics, Advanced Visualization, DataWarehous and Data Integration technologies. He has architected Cognitive and Analytics solutions for multiple customers across Telco, Banking, Insurance, Aviation and Healthcare Industries. He has a rich background of product architecture and development experience on portfolio across Watson, SPSS, Cognos, DB2 and Websphere.

Yogendra Soni

He was most recently the regional sales director for Asia Pacific with a Swiss startup specializing in fraud detection by leveraging big data and user behavior analytics.

Shesha Raghunathan

Shesha joined IBM in 2011 as part of EDA Timing analysis development team. He has worked on various aspect of analysis including noise, timing abstraction and reporting. In the last 3 years he has been primarily focused on EDA 3.0 (analytics in EDA) and is one of the principal contributors in that initiative. He is nominated as IBM Q Ambassador for India in 2018. Shesha got his PhD in Electrical Engineering (Quantum Computing) from University of Southern California, LA in 2010.

Anand Haridass

Anand Haridass is a Senior Technical Staff member with IBM India Systems Development Lab.  In his current role, as the Chief Engineer of the Development team for the IBM - Inspur Joint venture. He is also driving OpenPOWER adoption in ISA. Prior to this role, Anand has had different leadership roles in the Systems Strategy team & Power System Development teams in his 20+ year career with IBM.

Anand has an MSEE from Georgia Institute of Technology & BE (E&C) from NIT Surathkal, India. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, an IBM Master Inventor with 80+ patents & has 25+ papers in peer reviewed conferences/journals and has been awarded the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award multiple times in his career

Dr. Gargi B. Dasgupta

In her current role, Dr. Gargi is responsible for chartering innovations in the area of AI for Automation - with an emphasis on end-to-end solutions for optimization of business processes, applications and IT infrastructure.
Her work has led to numerous patent disclosures and publications, while influencing key IBM products and services. Gargi is a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
At IBM Research India, she is passionate on promoting women in STEM.

Jayanta Banerjee

Karan Bajwa

Karan Bajwa is a business leader with rich experience and expertise in driving transformation across the IT and Telecom sector in India as well as in the Asia Pacific region. Karan is currently the Managing Director of IBM India Pvt. Ltd and the Regional General Manager for India South Asia. He is responsible for all of IBM's sales, marketing, services and delivery operations in the India/South Asia region, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. In addition, Karan also plays a key role in enabling capabilities across IBM’s global missions in India, including research and innovation labs. Karan took up this role in 2017 with a mandate to make IBM the number one Cloud and Cognitive solutions company in India/South Asia.

Prior to joining IBM, Karan was the Managing Director, Microsoft India, where besides leading the India business for the company, he also the led the Cloud Transition and the Ecosystem engagement. Under his leadership, Microsoft India achieved success both internally and externally, including being recognized as the best performing subsidiary. Karan has an excellent understanding of enterprises as well as insights into the Indian Public Sector, having led the teams for these businesses for Microsoft for 6 years, prior to being appointed as the MD.

Before joining Microsoft, Karan had a successful stint as Head – Public Sector Business for Cisco India. In other roles he handled various responsibilities traversing the organization, including services and business development in the APAC region.

At IBM Singapore, from 2001-2006, as the head for the Networking Business for ASEAN region, Karan was responsible for transforming the Networking business across the seven countries.

Karan is on the Executive Council of NASSCOM, which plays a strategic role through focused initiatives and programs of enabling the Indian IT sector. Karan is also on FICCI’s National Council and AMCHAM’s Executive Board, working closely with industry peers and PSEs on national and regional issues.

Karan is a “People” focused business leader and believes that best lessons are learned from real people, as he has from his mentors.

Karan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Karan is actively engaged in the startup ecosystem, to learn the new economy, and is also an angel investor with early positions in FindYahan (now Zimmber), NewBytes and TheManCompany.

Dr. Mae Jemison

Dr. Prashant Pradhan

Dr. Prashant as the CTO and Chief Developer Advocate will lead a team of Deep Technology experts to drive IBM’s Platform conversations around Cloud and Cognitive with Enterprises, ISV's, Developers, and Startups.

In his earlier role, he was leading IBM’s Watson Business for India and South Asia. Prior to this he was leading IBM’s Smarter Cities business for India and South Asia, with a portfolio covering Smarter Cities, Analytics, and Smarter Commerce.

Prashant is a senior executive at IBM with experience spanning IBM Global Services and IBM Research, across multiple geographies. Prashant joined IBM in 2001 as a Research Scientist at IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research Center in New York, after completing his PhD in Computer Science from State University of New York, Stony Brook. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from IIT Delhi in 1996. Prashant moved to India in 2007 on an IBM international assignment, eventually moving to the India South Asia Business Unit in 2008.

During his tenure in India, Prashant was responsible for IBM India’s maiden deals in key industry verticals including Telecom Passive Infrastructure, Renewable Energy and Financial Inclusion. Prashant is a recipient of numerous corporate and academic awards and honors. He has served as chairman, panelist and speaker in numerous international conferences and prominent industry forums.

Rajesh Gudikoti

Vinayaka Pandit

Vinayaka Pandit is a Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM) of IBM Research and is currently the Senior Manager of Blockchain Research at IBM India Research Labs. In this role, he directs the Blockchain research agenda in the department that includes (a) systems aspects of Blockchain platforms, (b) cryptographic techniques and incentive schemes for sharing and collaborating on blockchain networks, (c) tokens and asset exchange frameworks to enable solutions, and (d) innovative Blockchain applications with a special focus on supply chain collaboration. The technological innovations from the department have been delivered to the open source Hyperledger Fabric project and to product offerings by IBM Blockchain and Supply Chain Business Units. He is an expert in working and partnering with clients in their Blockchain journey right from introducing Blockchain to identifying high-value use-cases and all the way into delivering production systems. He speaks frequently in Industry forums on the Blockchain technology and its applications in supply chain collaboration. He has been with IBM Research since 1999. He has published numerous papers in top conferences and journals and has also been a prolific inventor.

Karpagam Venkataraman

Karpagam heads the Product Management for IBM Resiliency Orchestration software from IBM Resiliency Services. Karpagam has over 20 years of industry experience, having worked in the engineering team at Sequent in the US and as the lead engineering architecture at Yahoo India.
